OLD*** Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was related to NRC #1248292. The anomaly was approximately 9.06 nm in length and approximately 1.30 nm at its widest. Winds near the time of the image were coming from the W at 5 kts and ocean currents were moving towards the SE at 1.5 kts. The anomaly had both relatively thin oil, the darker-colored portions, and relatively thicker oil, the white/silvery center portions. The anomaly had high contrast to its surroundings. UNCERTAINTIES:The point source was unknown. There were two possible oil facilities as well as pipelines within the vicinity that could've been point sources. Also, the anomaly was within an area of natural seeps.
