REPORT DATE: 06-12-2019 REPORT TIME: 1050 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: MOBILE 860 IMAGE DATE: 06-11-2019 IMAGE TIME: 2353 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1A MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 30°08'03" N/88°31'49" W AREA: 0.42 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear anomaly was 2.1 nm long and 0.10 nm at its widest portion. It appeared to be connected to a vessel at its southern end and widened with distance, although, we could not tell from the image if the vessel was in motion. The anomaly had a large contrast to its homogeneous surroundings and was away from known oil facilities, oil pipelines, natural oil seeps. UNCERTAINTIES: Due to the presence of a larger vessel in the vicinity of the anomaly, we are minimally uncertain as to which vessel produced the anomaly.
