REPORT DATE: 07-08-2019 REPORT TIME: 1945 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: SOUTH PASS 55 IMAGE DATE: 07-07-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1629 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 28°51'55" N/89°16'41" W AREA: 1.14 square kilometers (Updated 05/14/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: ***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE IMAGERY IS MORE THAN 24 HOURS OLD*** Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was believed to be associated with NRC Incident Report #1251312. The anomaly was directly connected to the oil facility mentioned in the associated NRC. The anomaly was approximately 6.06 nm oriented N-S and approximately 0.06 nm in width. The anomaly's relatively thicker oil had high contrast against its homogeneous surroundings and no natural phenomena was seen within the vicinity. Winds near the time of the image were coming from the NNW between 10-15 kts. which aligned well with the orientation of the anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: No uncertainties.
