REPORT DATE: 07-10-2019 REPORT TIME: 0200 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: MID ATLANTIC U.S. AREA/BLOCK: North Atlantic 6627 IMAGE DATE: 07-09-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1536 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 40°24'03" N/72°22'13" W AREA: 0.38 square kilometers (Updated 05/14/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was believed to be emanating from the known Coimbra Tanker Shipwreck. The anomaly was approximately 1.53 nm oriented W-SE and approximately 0.20 nm at its widest. The dark colored anomaly had low to moderate contrast against its surroundings with possibly thicker oil in the center. Winds near the time of the image were coming from the W at 5 kts. which aligned well with the orientation of the anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: No uncertainties.
