REPORT DATE: 07-15-2019 REPORT TIME: 0655 UTC REGION: PACIFIC SUB REGION: CALIFORNIA AREA/BLOCK: Southern California 6658 IMAGE DATE: 07-15-2019 IMAGE TIME: 0157 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1B MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 34°19'55" N/119°36'43" W AREA: 1.22 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: Medium-High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to be emanating from an oil facility and had a faint contrast to its background, perhaps owing to the light winds at 5 KT out of the WNW at the time of the image. The anomaly was about 2.5 NM long by 0.3 NM wide at its widest point. Considering the above factors we have MED-HIGH confidence in this assesment. UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly may be associated with wake created by the structure, though other facilities in the region did not appear to have a similar signature.
