REPORT DATE: 11-26-2019 REPORT TIME: 2115 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: MID ATLANTIC U.S. AREA/BLOCK: North Atlantic 7004 IMAGE DATE: 11-26-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1536 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 40°06'02" N/69°55'03" W AREA: 0.38 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly extended approximately 2.82 nmi to the northeast from the site of Wreck 1487, a known repeat oil leak source, and was up to 0.06 nmi in width. The anomaly appeared bright/silvery and stood out well against the background. Winds at the time of image were from the southwest at 5-10 knots, aligning well with the orientation of the anomaly. Confidence was determined to be high given the association with a repeat leak source and visible chromatic characteristics.
