REPORT DATE: 12-11-2019 REPORT TIME: 0945 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: PULLEY RIDGE 949 IMAGE DATE: 12-10-2019 IMAGE TIME: 2335 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1A MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 25°01'22" N/82°45'22" W AREA: 0.49 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly is believed to be an oil slick that originated from the Cudahy shipwreck since the anomaly's origin was almost directly connected to that site. The thin, linear slick stretched for approximately 3.6 nautical miles NW from the wreck site, in accordance with winds from the SE at 10 kts at the time of the image. UNCERTAINTIES: A more precise areal measurement of the slick was not possible due to the slick's diffuse appearance.
