REPORT DATE: 02-18-2020 REPORT TIME: 2200 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: PULLEY RIDGE 949 IMAGE DATE: 02-18-2020 IMAGE TIME: 1602 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2B MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 25°01'22" N/82°45'22" W AREA: 0.21 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly extended approximately 2.25 nmi to the WSW from the site of the sunken Cudahy shipwreck, a known repeat oil leak source, and was up to 0.03 nmi in width. It appeared dark in color and stood out well against the ocean background. Measured winds at the time of image were 10-15 kts and from the ENE, aligning well with the orientation of the anomaly. Confidence was determined to be high given the association with a repeat leak source and visible chromatic characteristics. UNCERTAINTIES: Due to the repeat leak nature of the suspected source, there are no uncertainties.
