REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate westward from the site of Wreck 1487, a known frequent leak source, and was approximately 9.7 nmi in length and up to 0.25 nmi in width, with some widening with distance from the source. The anomaly had a dark color distinct from its background and unique to its vicinity. Additional silvery-white coloring was seen within the eastern end of the anomaly, suggesting thicker oil.  Winds at the time of the image were 10 kts from the NNE.

UNCERTAINTIES: The wind direction did not align well with the anomaly.  Still, the distinct appearance of the anomaly and the repeat leak nature of the suspected source support high confidence that this was oil.
