REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to originate from a location approximately 6.1 nmi west of the mouth of the Mississippi River, extending in a reverse-S shape approximately 12.3 nmi to the east and south.  The anomaly was up to 0.7 nmi in width along this path and had a milky-white appearance in sunglint. Winds at the time of the image at a nearby observing station were around 10 kts from the SW. The anomaly is likely associated with NRC report #1277499.

UNCERTAINTIES: Given the co-location with the NRC report, there are no uncertainties that this was oil. However, given the coarse resolution of the image, the total area is approximated.
