REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was approximately 30 nmi NE of Port Eads, LA and appeared to emanate eastward from an oil facility. The anomaly measured approximately 5.1 nmi in length and up to 0.16 nmi in width. It had a dark appearance distinct from its surroundings, with embedded white coloring near the suspected source suggesting thicker oil. Winds at the time of the image were from the NW at 5-10 kts. The anomaly was co-located and likely related to NRC report #1281704.

UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly likely extended beyond the image edge. There were false positives around the anomaly, which potentially mixed with and obscured the true extent of the anomaly. Still, given the NRC report, confidence is high that this was oil.
