REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The slick was approximately 1.67 nm in length, had a linear in shape, had a darker appearance than the surrounding environment, and appeared to emanate from the known ship wreck Andrea Doria. Winds at the time of the image were from the south at 17 kts which aligned well with the northern movement of the anomaly.


UNCERTAINTIES: The full extent of the slick could not be identified due to image enhancements needed to bring out the anomaly. Additionally, the darker water to the north likely blended in with the full extent of the anomaly. No other uncertainties were identified.
