REPORT DATE: 11-14-2020 REPORT TIME: 1745 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: N/A IMAGE DATE: 11-14-2020 IMAGE TIME: 0001 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1A MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 29°33'31" N/89°09'27" W AREA: 0.19 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: Medium REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was approximately 2.06nm in length and 0.05nm at its widest point. The anomaly had a medium contrast to the surrounding waters and appeared to be connected to an oil facility. The darker anomaly towards the south was issued on in a prior MPSR. At the time the satellite image was taken the winds were SE at 10kts. UNCERTAINTIES: There were similar-looking linear anomalies in the area. There was a possibility that the anomaly may have also been biogenic. Due to these factors, our confidence was kept at Medium.
