REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located approx. 205 NMI SW from New Orleans, LA. The anomaly was measured approx. 0.66 NMI long and 0.36 NMI wide. The anomaly had a good contrast against the ocean background. There were multiple oil facilities around the anomaly but were not connected to any of them. Winds near the time of the image were SE at 10 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly was not connected to a point source, although there were several oil facilities within the vicinity. Additionally, there was a report of oil (NRC #1297255) in the area.
