REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located approximately 30 nmi east of West Palm Beach, FL and was just outside of the US EEZ boundary. It consisted of 3 parts aligned S-N along a path 10 nmi in length, with the middle largest segment approximately 2.5 nmi in length and up to 0.3 nmi in width. The anomaly was dark against its background with defined edges, and was mixed with likely biogenic material but was oriented obliquely from it. Winds at the time of the image were around 10 kts from the ENE. The anomaly may have been the result of a bilge dump from a vessel.

UNCERTAINTIES: A point source could not be determined, although a possible source vessel was located to the north. The presence of likely biogenic material near the anomaly allowed for the possibility that the anomaly itself was also from a natural source.
