REPORT DATE: 04-21-2021 REPORT TIME: 0200 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: SOUTH TIMBALIER 21 IMAGE DATE: 04-20-2021 IMAGE TIME: 1638 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 29°01'22" N/90°16'14" W AREA: 0.21 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. This anomaly is believed to be associated with NRC #1303105. A possible oil slick 1.1 nm long and 0.1 nm wide was centered 1.8 nm southwest of the suspected source, which was an oil facility. The anomaly had a shimmery appearance, which suggested the presence of thicker oil. Winds at the time were from the NNE at 10 kts. UNCERTAINTIES: The NRC report of oil in the vicinity results in high confidence with little uncertainty.
