REPORT DATE: 05-08-2021 REPORT TIME: 0445 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: SOUTH TIMBALIER 22 IMAGE DATE: 05-07-2021 IMAGE TIME: 1629 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 29°00'26" N/90°11'55" W AREA: 2.13 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: Medium-High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate west-southwestward from the site of the SEACOR Power salvage site. The anomaly measured approximately 8.75 nmi in length and up to 0.17 nmi in width. It had a dark, wavy, broken appearance, with shimmery white coloring indicating possible thicker oil near the point source. Winds at the time of the image were from the N at 5-8 kts. UNCERTAINTIES: A potential anomaly to the northwest of the point source was determined to be unrelated to this anomaly, but this was uncertain.
