REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. A possible oil slick was detected in Main Pass. The anomaly extended 2.4 nm from south to north and appeared shimmery in sunglint. Winds at the time were from the south at 15-20 knots. A Planet image from 1332Z showed no anomaly in this area.

UNCERTAINTIES: Given the shimmery appearance and the lack of natural phenomena in the scene, confidence was assessed as medium-high. The full extent of the anomaly was somewhat uncertain given the limitation of the field of view, particularly to the south. This slick may have been associated with NRC #1304622 that described a 3 mile long slick from a pin hole leak in an out of service pipeline. The source for the NRC report was located 3 nm south-southeast of the southern point of the anomaly outlined here. The strong southerly winds make this a possible source for the anomaly described here.
