REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate northwestward from the site of the Cudahy shipwreck, a known repeat leak source, and measured approximately 3.5 nmi in length and up to 0.2 nmi in width. The anomaly was faintly dark against its background with diffuse edges. Winds at the time of the image were from the E at 5-8 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly was faint and somewhat difficult to discern, reducing confidence in the extent of the anomaly. In addition, the anomaly was not directly connected to the site of the Cudahy wreck, but this was the most likely source. Given that the Cudahy is a known repeat leak source, confidence that this was oil is high.
