REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The broken anomaly extended about 15 NM long by approximately 0.6 NM wide at its widest point, had very good contrast with its background and had feathering. Although no candidate vessels were noted in the scene, feathering is a tell-tale sign of a bilge dump. Winds out of the SW at 10 KT at the time of the image aligned well with the feathering. Considering the above factors, we have HIGH confidence in this assessment.
