This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear anomaly measured approx. 7.8 nm long and meandered west from the location of several pipelines according to Louisiana GIS data near Fort Fourchon. The slick was black with portions of silver (near the east end) and stood out from the homogeneous ocean background, and was located near the location of recent oil spills that began after Hurricane Ida passed through the region. UNCERTAINTIES: The exact point source is uncertain since the area has many pipelines.
