REPORT DATE: 09-26-2021 REPORT TIME: 2010 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: MID ATLANTIC U.S. AREA/BLOCK: North Atlantic 7004 IMAGE DATE: 09-26-2021 IMAGE TIME: 1536 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 40°06'03" N/69°55'04" W AREA: 0.24 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The slick was linear in shape. ***Imagery Enhancement Disclaimer*** the image was very difficult to pull out the anomaly visually, however analysis concluded that the slick was present. The slick emanated from the known shipwreck (Wreck 1487). The slick was approximately 2.02nm in length. Winds near the time of the image were out of the west/northwest at 15kts which aligned with the anomaly movement. UNCERTAINTIES: Imagery enhancements made it difficult to highlight the anomaly.
