REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate northwestward from the location of an oil facility located approximately 81 nmi south of Marsh Island in coastal Louisiana. The anomaly measured approximately 6.7 nmi in length and up to 1.9 nmi in width, widening with distance from the suspected source. It had a darker appearance against its background, with some sharper edges. Winds at the time of the image were around 10 kts from the east. NRC report #1327141, from about 36 hours earlier, reported an observed sheen at this location suspected to be a pipeline release.

UNCERTAINTIES: Due to the NRC report of an observed sheen, there are no uncertainties.
