Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil stood out from its surroundings and appeared as a silver sheen in places, which is characteristic of thicker oil. The possible oil appeared to emanate from an oil facility towards the northeast, located 18 nm east of Port Sulphur in Breton Sound, Louisiana. The possible oil was approximately 1.64 nm long and .15 nm at its widest point. Winds at the time were 5 kts to the SW. This image showed that the possible oil was lengthening to the SW when compared with an image that captured the same area 30 minutes prior, which aligned with the wind data.
