REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery.  The oil spill extended about 18 NM long by around 2.5 NM wide at its widest point and had good contrast with its background. Additionally, the spill had areas of silvery sheen consistent with thicker oil. Finally, the spill coincided with several reports of oil in the region including Hotline #10450 and NRC#1334935. Winds were out of the SE at 10 KT at the time of the image. Considering the above factors, we have HIGH confidence in this assessment.


UNCERTAINTIES: Cloudcover, cloud shadows and biogenic matter in the scene obscured the full extent of the oil.
