REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery.  The possible oil was located 2 nm south of Shell Island Bay, Louisiana and was 1.25 nm long and .75 nm at its widest point. The possible oil stood out against the surrounding environment and appeared shimmery in places. It appeared to emanate from an oil facility at the southeast end. Winds at the timer were 10 kts from the south.


UNCERTAINTIES: The nearshore area is prone to false positives.
