REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil was located approximately 12 nmi south of Port Fourchon, LA and was oriented in a SW-NE streak measuring approximately 1.2 nmi in length and 0.05 nmi in width. The possible oil had a white appearance against its background. Winds at the time of the image were from the N at around 8 kts. The possible oil was co-located with NRC report #1336047, which was a report from about an hour previous to the image time of an oil sheen of unknown origin.

UNCERTAINTIES: The possible oil was not clearly distinct from surrounding false positives. A vessel with a prominent wake was crossing the sheen at the time of the image. Nearby clouds may have obscured a portion of the slick.
