The possible oil was located approximately 55 nm S of Caillou Bay, Louisiana and may have emanated from an oil facility in the Ship Shoal area. The possible oil was very dark in contrast to the surrounding environment and appeared out of place. It extended for 13 nm from the suspected point source and was .18 nm across its widest point. Winds at the time were ESE at 12 kts. UNCERTAINTIES: None.
