REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The slick extended around 2.5 NM long by about 0.5 NM wide at its widest point, had good contrast with its background and had feathering on its trailing edge consistent with WSW winds at 5 KT at the time of the image. This slick may be related to an NRC report (#i1337274) associated with an oil release into the Gulf to the W of this report earlier today, but this cannot be confirmed. Considering the above factors, we have MED-HIGH confidence in this assessment.

UNCERTAINTIES: There is a slight possibility that the anomaly may be something other than oil, such as biogenic matter.
