REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil was located south of Marsh Island, LA, and measured approximately 2.4 nmi in length and up to 0.22 nmi in width oriented SW-NE. It had a dark appearance with diffuse edges, with mily-white coloring within the southwestern portion. Winds at the time of the image were from the NE at around 5 kts. False-color imagery did not indicate the presence of biogenic material within the possible oil area.

UNCERTAINTIES: There were no known reports of an oil slick at this location. The possible oil appeared mostly distinct from nearby natural features, but did blend into possible biogenic material at both ends, reducing confidence in the extent of the oil. Several oil facilities were in the immediate vicinity of the slick, but none could be definitively identified as a likely source.
