The possible oil was located 53 nm offshore of Louisiana in the Ship Shoal. The possible oil extended for 5 nm and was .35 nm across its widest point, with a silver sheen characteristic of thicker oil. Multiple MPSRs have been issued at this location recently, the latest being NRC #s 1337713 and 1337836. Winds at the time were SW 6 kts. UNCERTAINTIES: An oil pipeline at the southwestern end appeared to be the source of the possible oil. The extent was estimated due to cloud cover.
