REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil was located in Ship Shoal area (Block #230) of the Gulf of Mexico. The slick extended approximately 12.80 nmi long and measured 4.20 nmi at its maximum width. It appeared dark and stood out well against the background. The slick also exhibited feathering. Winds at the time of image were from the south at 5 knots, aligning well with the overall orientation of the slick and consistent with the feathering signature. Confidence was determined to be Medium-High given that no specific point source could be identified, and no oil slicks were reported in the area.

UNCERTAINTIES:
A specific facility could not be determined as there were many in close proximity in this area.
