The anomaly appeared bright and shimmery against the ocean background and was indicative of oil in sunglint conditions. The anomaly extends for approximately 7.11 NM with a maximum width of approximately 1 NM, within the anomaly specific areas of possible thick oil was observed. The winds near the time of this image were out of the SE and aligned well with the orientation of this anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: There was not a clear cut point source observed in the imagery and there was no NRC report that referenced an oil incident in the immediate area.
