REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. An anomaly was observed 110 nautical miles Southwest of Houma, Louisiana. Spanning a length of 5.4 nautical miles and a rough width of 2.4 nautical miles, the potential slick seemed to be emanating from a cluster of nearby oil facilities. The potential slick had strong contrast with the surrounding water, well defined edges, and clear signs of feathering. Winds at the time were coming from a Southerly direction at around 8kts. Due to the size, dispersal pattern, and close proximity to known oil facilities, the Confidence for this report is High.
