REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil measured roughly 4 nm long and was .1 nm wide, had sharp edges and a dark contrast to the surrounding environment. The anomaly appeared to flow east from a group of oil facilities approximately 3 nm offshore SE of Timbalier Bay, Louisiana. Winds were W 8 kts, which would have aligned with an eastern trajectory of possible oil from nearby facilities.

UNCERTAINTIES: The full extent of possible oil may have been larger than estimated due to cloud coverage obscuring areas near the center and western end of the anomaly. No definite point source could be determined.
