REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil was centered approximately 110 nmi SE of Galveston, TX and measured 16.2 nmi by 11.1 nmi in a swirling shape. The slick had a milky-white appearance in sunglint and was very distinct from its surroundings, and was located away from known natural oil seeps. Winds around the time of the image were from the W at around 6 kts. This anomaly was located near, and is likely associated with, Hotline 10511, "West Cameron 498/Stingray Pipeline Natural Gas Condensate Discharge" and related NRC reports #1344742 and #1344746.


UNCERTAINTIES: A point source could not be positively identified. However, the previous NRC reports, one of which was an observed sheen and the other a previous MPSR, still allow for high confidence.
