The anomaly was dark and had a sharp contrast against its surroundings. Its shape was very straight except for a well defined unnatural loop. The slick was attached to a vessel indicating a likely bilge dump. Winds at the time were from the north at 12 kt. The anomaly measured approximately 11.5 nmi long and 0.16 nmi wide on average.
