REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. An anomaly was observed 111.9 nautical miles Southwest of Houma, Louisiana. Spanning a length of 5.5 nautical miles and a rough width of 0.3 nautical miles, the potential slick was seen in the vicinity of an active oil facility. The potential slick had strong contrast with the surrounding water and appeared to be emanating from the nearby facility. Winds at the time were coming from a Southeast direction at around 10kts. In addition, NRC #1346473 also reported the accidental release of oil from a nearby oil facility. The Confidence for this report is Medium-High.

UNCERTAINITIES: Despite its immediate proximity to an oil facility and corresponding NRC, the presence of numerous false positives in the area reduce the Confidence from a High to Medium-High.
