REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. A linear anomaly was observed 62 nautical miles Southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana. Spanning a length of 1.5 nautical miles and a rough width of 0.09 nautical miles, the potential slick was seen in the vicinity of an active oil facility. The potential slick had strong contrast with the surrounding water and appeared to be emanating from the nearby facility. NRC #1354520 also reported a previous oil spill from the same facility on the 12/08/2022. Winds at the time were blowing in a Northwestern direction at around 8kts. Due to the corresponding imagery and NRC report, the Confidence for this report is High.
