REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The slick had well defined edges, had a strong contrast that stood out from its surroundings and was located 43 nm off the LA coast. The slick measured approximately 12.9 nm in length and 1.1 nm at the widest section. Winds near the time of the image were out of the N at 4 knots. 

UNCERTAINTIES: No point source could be identified, although the anomaly may have originated to the NE due to the diffuse and widening sections that were observed toward the southern end.
