REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate from the wreck 1487 location and extends W for approximately 9.4 NM with a maximum width of .38 NM. The anomaly appeared dark against the ocean background with an embedded area of possible thick oil that appeared silver. The anomaly had well-defined edges and was indicative of oil in multi-spectral imagery. Local wind data indicates that winds were out of the South-west at approximately 14 kts. The wind data did not align well with the orientation of the anomaly however confidence was determined to be high given that the anomaly originated from a repeat leak source.
