REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate from the wreck 1487 location and extended W for approximately 4.5 NM with a maximum width of .15 NM. The anomaly appeared dark against the ocean background with an embedded area of possible thick oil. The anomaly had well-defined edges and was indicative of oil in SAR imagery. Local wind data indicates that winds were out of the South-east at approximately 11 kts. The wind data aligned well with the orientation of the anomaly and confidence was determined to be high given that the anomaly originated from a repeat leak source.

UNCERTAINTIES: Uncertainties are minimal given the documented history of Wreck 1487 as a repeat leak source.
