REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The possible oil was located approximately 52 nmi southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River in the Gulf of Mexico. It appeared to emanate southwestward from an oil facility and measured 1.25 nmi in length and up to 0.26 nmi in width. The possible oil had a silvery appearance in sunglint with some areas of milky-white coloring suggesting possible thicker oil. Winds at the time of the image were from the NNE at 15-20 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: The possible oil was wider near the suspected source than at its far end. The area of oil appeared to end beneath a cloud, so the total analyzed area of oil may be slightly smaller than the true extent.
