REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear anomaly was observed 152.44 nautical mile Southeast of New Orleans emanating from a suspected vessel. The suspected slick had a rough length of 1.5 nautical miles and a rough width of 0.08 nautical miles. Winds at the time were blowing in a Northeasterly direction at 8 kts. Previous NRC #1369753 reported that a vessel at these coordinates experienced mechanical issues which caused hydraulic oil to be discharged into the water. Due to these collaborating factors, this report has a High Confidence.
