REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The slick was approximately 5.88 nm long and approx. 1.49 nm at its widest. It had a shimmery center which is a characteristic of relatively thicker oil. It had good contrast against the ocean background and was distinguishable against natural phenomena in the area. Winds near the time of the image were coming from the W between 5-10 kts.



UNCERTAINTIES: The point source was unknown due to multiple oil facilities and pipelines in the vicinity. Also, the full extent was not visible due to cloud coverage and unavailable imagery further south.
