This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The slick had a strong and dark appearance to the surrounding environment, sharp well-defined edges, and was likely associated with NRC# 1375008. The slick emanated from the Ship Shoal Area of the Gulf of Mexico. The slick was approximately 5.12nm in length, and approximately 1.27nm at the widest point. Winds near the time of the image were out of the north between 10-15kts. UNCERTAINTIES: There were multiple oil platforms within the anomaly extents so no point source could be identified.
