REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil.  The anomaly was located 56 nm southeast of New Orleans, just off the Southeast coast of Louisiana.  The anomaly contrasted well against the ocean background.  The anomaly might be associated with NRC #1375278 because it was close in proximity to it, about 3-4 nmi away.  The anomaly was approximately 2.2 nm long and 0.1 nm wide.  Winds at the time of the image were coming from the northwest at about 5-10 knots.

UNCERTAINTIES:  The full extent of the anomaly was unknown because the available imagery was cut off at the north end of the anomaly.  Also, the point source was unknown because there were multiple oil facilities and pipelines in the vicinity.
