REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil.   It was located approximately 131 nmi southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana.  The slick was approximately 3.4 nmi long by 4.7 nmi wide at its widest point.  It had well defined edges and contrasted strongly against the ocean  background.  It appeared out of place and was not located close to any natural seeps. WInds were out of the NE around 10 kts which aligns well with the orientation of the anomaly.

UNCERTAINTIES:  The point source of the oil slick was uncertain.  There were three oil facilities located over the anomaly as well as pipelines in the vicinity.
