REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The possible oil showed strong contrast against the background environment and appeared to flow NW from an oil well point source, widening with distance as it contacted the shoreline approximately .75 nm away from a reported well leak at Little Lake and Turtle Bay area Louisiana (NRC 1382350, 10/21/23). The anomaly was 1.5 nm long between the point source and shoreline, and .3 nm at its widest nearest the shoreline. Winds were from SE at 5 kn.

UNCERTAINTIES: Although false positives are typically prevalent in the area, confidence is medium-high given the NRC report, stark contrast, and trajectory alignment (SE to NW) with reported winds (from SE) at the time.
