REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The possible oil appeared to be the result of a bilge dumping from a southwest bound vessel located approximately 41.92 nmi west of Oceanside, California. The possible oil extended northeastward approximately 8.77 nmi from the vessel, and was up to 0.16 nmi in width. The anomaly was dark against its background and away from natural seep areas, though its appearance was not particularly well-defined. The anomaly was broken into segments that widened as they got further away from the vessel. Winds at the time of the image were from the southeast at about 15 kts. Confidence for this report is Medium-High.
